Maintaining a Full Coat

Show-Level Coat Care is maintenance for a dog kept in a full coat. The visit preserves length and supports coat health through washing, conditioning, detangling, and careful blow-drying. Sanitary areas and paws are tidied as part of that care. The overall coat is not cut short.

Unlike a full haircut, long-coat care is designed to maintain and protect length rather than shorten the overall coat.

A long coat needs this care on a regular rhythm, before mats have time to form. As the coat grows, moisture reaches the ends less easily, and dry hair tangles more readily. Steady conditioning and line brushing keep it soft and manageable.

When the goal is a haircut or a styled finish, Full Grooming is a separate appointment.

Long-coat care at K9 Atelier is provided by Penny, a multiple award-winning show groomer with extensive experience in coat preservation, full-coat maintenance and breed-specific grooming.

Long-Coat Care for Maltese

A Maltese kept in a full coat has long, silky hair that stays comfortable with regular moisture, conditioning, and detangling. The purpose of this visit is to maintain that length and help prevent matting.

Maltese long-coat care at K9 Atelier is private, one-on-one mobile grooming. The coat is washed, conditioned, brushed through, and dried with the length protected.

Long-Coat Care for Yorkshire Terriers

A Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) grown in a full coat has fine, silky hair that needs consistent conditioning and detangling. Breed-appropriate coat care here means preserving that length and keeping the coat healthy between appointments.

Yorkie long-coat care is private, one-on-one mobile grooming, brought to your home. Each visit prepares the coat — wash, condition, detangle, and blow-dry — while sanitary areas and paws are maintained.
